Posdoctoral Researcher Faculty of Excellence

What will you do
The Faculty of Excellence initiative is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to conduct frontier science in the field of bioinformatics for water treatment systems aiming to position us as leaders in understanding dynamic metabolism in these processes. The postdoctoral researcher will collaborate with world-leading water treatment experts and propose innovative approaches for advancing and positioning this topic globally.
- Conduct research in molecular biology and bioinformatics applied to water treatment systems.
- Write Q1/Q2 scientific articles.
- Prepare competitive research proposals.
- Supervise and mentor junior research teams.
- Promote the dissemination of science and technology.
Your main challenges will be:
- Publish at least two Q1/Q2 articles annually.
- Submit research proposals to external funding sources.
- Perform bioinformatic processing of environmental samples.
- Design and operate pilot-scale water treatment systems.
- Participate in science outreach events.
What are we looking for
- PhD in Environmental Engineering Molecular Biology or Bioinformatics.
- Proven experience in extracting genetic information from aerobic/anaerobic reactors for wastewater treatment during graduate studies.
- Highly desirable: experience in bioinformatically processing metagenomic and genomic data under models that identify metabolic pathways.
- Experience in commissioning and operating aerobic and anaerobic reactors for wastewater treatment at laboratory and pilot scale.
