Main Purpose of Job
The Supervisor of After School Programs (ASP) & Student Developments responsibilities are to develop and oversee activities associated with After School Program for Elementary Middle and High School students and Organizations & Clubs for High School Students. Ensure schedules are coordinated and staff/ sponsors are ready to provide programs as scheduled (morning afternoon or evening) to all students (day and residential) involved. Brainstorm adjust or develop new programs/organizations/ clubs as needed. Support with main events such as graduation tournaments andconferences as needed. Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use ofinitiative and independent judgment. The Supervisor of After School Programs & Student Developments will work closely with the After School Program Staff Sponsors Athletic Director Director of Student Life RCYCP staff and Supervisors Principals Behavior Specialists and Dean of Student Affairs to ensure programs for all students. Ability to travel in-state and out of state. Ability to work in evenings and weekends as needed.
POSITION DUTIES
Plans develops organizes coordinates and schedules a variety of after school programs;
Supervises and oversees After School Programs including special events and projects;
Instructs and supervises staff in running programs including Organizations and Clubs;
Implements activities for all students to involve them in productive and meaningful learningexperiences;
Works with school on Student Development opportunities during school hours;
Works with After School Program Coordinator and Student Life on Student Developmentopportunities after school hours;
Develops and conducts educational workshops and/or presentations to students;
Plans and implement volunteer hours needed for Students SSL;
Assists in major campus-wide events;
Builds relationships with various businesses/organizations/communities to the students benefit;
Collects Ideas from the community Plan and Implement the programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: BA in Education Counseling Recreation or a related field.
Experience: Leadership and event planning experience. Must be fluent in ASL and written English.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Supervision experience.
LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Employee will be expected to become certified in Personal Crisis Management.
2. Duties may require the operation of a state vehicle. Employee will be required to possess a motorvehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland and pass the state Driver ImprovementProgram.
3. Employee will be trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first-aid leading to certifications must be kept current.
4. Employee may be required to obtain life guard and pool operator certification.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Codeof Maryland Regulations 17.04.09 Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
2. Employees in this classification will be required to apply for a criminal background check as arequirement of the Annotated Code of Maryland Family Law Section 5-561.
3. Applicants will need to provide three letters of recommendation.
