GENERAL PURPOSE:
As a Patient Sitter you will provide personal care services and continuous observation of patients in need of constant collaboration with the hospital staff the patient sitter ensures the patient environment is free of obstacles and minimizes the risk of falls and accidental or intentional self-harm. Alongside your fellow team members you will help elevate the patient experience.
SCHEDULE: 12 hour shifts
- Day Shift
- Night Shift
- Weekend Shifts
RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Assist patients with daily activities (grooming bathing feeding)
- Assist the Nursing staff with duties including administering patient vitals.
- Assist nursing staff in creating maintaining and providing a safe environment.
- Immediately report all changes in the condition of the patient/client to appropriate supervisor and staff.
- Follow all required policies to avoid the transmission of illness by correctly wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including masks and gloves.
- Alert nursing staff immediately to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction
- Adhere to confidentiality and patients rights policy as outlined in the healthcare facilitys HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Work independently and as part of the team
- Attend required healthcare facility training and orientation programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 19years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of experience in patient care within a hospital environment is preferred.
- Minimum of one to two years in a professional work environment required.
- Authorizedto work for any employer within the United States
- Must meet the healthcare facilitys pre-assignment and medical requirements.
- Must pass all onboarding screening processes.

- Ability to adequately operate apps/technology on a tablet and learn new software that may have to be applied to the daily tasks for this role.
- Ability to effectively build relationships with patients guests and team members.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Role may include assignmentsin Emergency Room or Behavioral Health Units.
- Will complete Crisis Prevention and Intervention training/certification.
- Role requires continuous physical engagement including walking standing and ambulating of patients.
