Assistant Director of Estates (Special Projects) ()
Reporting to the Director of Estates the Assistant Director of Estates (Special Projects) will assist in carrying out transformationleadership and process re-engineering in project and facility management services of the Estates Office.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director to carry out transformation leadership and process re-engineering in project and facility management services to enhance cost and time effectiveness improve communication and collaboration among various sections of the Estates Office and to align with the Universitys strategic goals to improve overall efficiency effectiveness and quality of works and services provided by the Estates Office;
- Assist the Director in the review revamping and implementation of the Estates Offices works related procedures to uphold quality and ensure compliance with the policies of the University and University Grants Committee Notes on Procedures;
- Work closely with the project team of the Office on any assigned tasks by the Director regarding overall planning of campus development enhancement and spatial reorganisation issues including leading the team to develop the Campus Master Plan (III) review and study potential capital works opportunities and take charge of the overall space planning strategies of the University campuses.
- Upskill teams by developing training and establishing the Estates Academy; and
- Other special projects/duties as assigned by the Director.
Requirements:
- A recognised bachelors degree or higher in the architecture discipline;
- Full member of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects; with at least 15 years ofpost-qualification experience;
- Authorised Person (Architect);
- At least 18 years of relevant experience in the architecture/construction industry. Solid experience in the role of a project manager and/or working in government/institutional organisations will be an advantage;
- Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese and proficiency in computer applications in relation to project management and construction administrations; and
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic and changing environment with a service-orientated mindset and positive manner to communicate with others.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Shortlisted candidates are required to sit for a written test and prepare a presentation.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
