Job Summary
The position will be involved in technical areas ranging from support of enterprise business logic delivery of new initiatives supporting Ellucians Banner ERP and planning implementation and support of the varied ecosystem of 3rd party applications that augment the ERP functionality. This position will also support reporting initiatives and other process improvements as required by campus needs. This entails:
Working closely with functional users to identify needs and problems
Translating functional requirements into technical specifications
Developing innovative solutions utilizing Banner administrative and self-service applications as well as third-party systems/applications to support and enhance business operations
Working with the Ellucian SMO (Satellite Maintenance Office) as an integrated team
Applying best-practice and established system analysis procedures
Utilizing design and programming concepts principles and standards.
This position is responsible for supporting functional user needs ERP integrations and business logic while providing technical support for other student information-related projects for the campus.
This position offers the opportunity to work remotely with the occasional need to travel to the System office and community college for in person meetings.
Job Duties
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Information Technology or a related field or Associates degree and 4 years of current experience in a related area.
Minimum of 2 years of related work experience
Experience with a programming/macro language such as ProC/PL/SQL and Oracle database analysis
3 years of experience working in both technical support and end-user support environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with languages such as Java and JavaScript
Experience with Banner 9 Application development
Experience with Ellucian Ethos platform
Experience in Higher Education
Subject matter expertise in the requirements of an academic institution particularly as they relate to the administration of student data
Experience within the College System of Tennessee (TBR)
Experience in preparing documentation and training materials
Strong desire to develop and grow in knowledge and experience.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to use a variety of advanced techniques and tools to achieve desired application functionality and perform technical problem solving for functional team members.
Technical depth and breadth in middleware administration software development and project management coupled with flexibility.
Ability to analyze user information technology needs to design new or modify current applications systems.
Ability to communicate technical material in a clear manner to non-technical individuals
Ability to develop and maintain positive collaborative working environment
Prioritization skills and capacity to manage multiple deadlines
Ability to perform with limited direction self-starter
Demonstrated customer service skills in past work history
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal oral and written communications skills
Ability to read write and interpret documents such as operation/maintenance manuals equipment specifications and procedure manuals
Ability to work after hours support as may be necessary.
