A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a machinist 1 at MKS Instruments you will partner with the machine shop team Engineering Quality Assurance and the technical operations teams. You will be responsible for productivity quality and meeting the expected daily this role you will report to the Machine shop supervisor.
You Will Make an Impact By:
Responsibilities include assignment planning layout set-up operating and making tool adjustments for a variety of major conventional or automatic machines
Works from blueprints process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions
Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances
May identify and repair minor machine malfunctions
Setting up and running the Omax water jet
Inventory and cycle counting raw materials
Unloading Semi Trucks
Burning used coolant
Issuing raw materials
Calling for pickup of recycled metals
Required Skills:
1 year of related experience required
Requires machine shop experience ability to add and subtract decimals
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
Perform activities such as sitting standing or typing for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination
Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 30 pounds
Ability to remain in a stationary position for 60% of the time
Frequently positions self to perform tasks and positions objects below at and above shoulder level
Regularly requires manual dexterity and coordination of objects below at and above shoulder level
Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
Must be able to exchange accurate information
Operates in a manufacturing environment
Ability to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards including handling mechanical and electrical hardware high voltage gas water and heat
Noise level in the work environment is usually average
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly Pay Range: $22.00 -$24.50 hourly. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected range for this position based on a wide range of factors including qualifications experience and training operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.
Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in an amount to be determined by MKS or as applicable.
