Job Description

Overview

The FBO General Manager is responsible for the direct management of all aspects of the FBO including line operations fuel sales hangar sales customer service and retention quality control and environmental and safety compliance.

Reports to: President/CEO

Responsibilities

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage people and facilities in accordance with owners policies and applicable State and Federal laws and regulations
  • Financial management of the FBO includes gross margins capital expenditures budgeting forecasting and expense management.
  • Conduct ongoing competitive analysis to include pricing selling points and product offerings.
  • Create new opportunities by developing and maintaining relationships with customers and the local airport administration.
  • Involved with the hiring and training of new employees; conduct merit and performance reviews; plan assign and direct work while ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
  • Address employee relations issues.
  • Ensure employees receive company communication and necessary training to include safety customer service standards company values etc. as well as ensuring training and development of employees to improve work performance and maximize employee potential.
  • Hands-on day-to-day management of all FBO operations.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelors degree in Aviation Management Business or related field of study.
  • 3-5 years of progressive FBO management experience.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to positively relate and communicate.
  • Must be able to respond to inquiries or complaints from employees customers regulatory agencies or members of the community.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Word and web-based applications.
  • Must be able to effectively present information to top management subordinates public groups and/or boards via telephone in written form or in person.
  • Must process the competencies of leadership entrepreneurship negotiation influence operational decision making and customer orientation.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to complete Accredited Airport Employee (ACE) Operations through the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) within two years of hire.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Work required at other times for training special events irregular operations inclement weather and emergencies.
  • This position is required to be onsite for winter weather events.
  • Primary job functions require in-person/on-site work.
  • This position is deemed essential.
  • Must successfully pass and maintain an active Security Threat Assessment (STA) and Criminal History Records Check (CHRC). Certain convictions will disqualify individuals from unescorted access privileges and therefore exclude them from employment.
  • Must obtain and maintain Non-Movement and Movement Area Drivers endorsement within 90 days of employment.
  • This position must have a valid drivers license at all times and be able to drive to various locations on and off airport premises.
