POSTING: Equipment Operator/General Labourer
Full Time position
Primary Purpose: Public Works Equipment Operator who will be responsible for operating TFN equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. The duties will include Equipment Operation; Roads; and Infrastructure Maintenance. Other duties involve dealing with clients and members of the public in a courteous respectful manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES/Duties
- Operates various types of equipment (i.e grader plow truck backhoe excavator);
- Grading of roads in the summer season and snow removal in the winter season.
- Complete duties of a manual nature as assigned (ie. Bushing digging culvert and sign installation water line installation septic installation debris removal infrastructure maintenance etc.)
- Adhere to workplace safety polices and procedures.
- Carryout routine maintenance and repairs of band vehicles and equipment and all band-owned buildings.
- Operate equipment such as computers radios and telephones to exchange necessary information with supervisors and other operators.
- Other related duties as requested and/or required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Grade 12 Education.
- Minimum 2 years related equipment operating experience.
- Minimum Class G Drivers License.
- Class D Drivers License and Z endorsed A endorsement considered an asset
- Excellent Driving Record.
- Sufficient mechanical ability to be able to perform preventative maintenance procedures.
- Building and carpentry skills and asset.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Salary: Determined based on experience
