The Division Manager is based in Jefferson County and is required to travel throughout the service area and to make occasional trips throughout the state. The incumbent provides on-site and technical support to the Division Director and has responsibilities for planning research communications personnel policy enforcement recordkeeping production property management safety and security. The incumbent processes managerial and technical work of considerable difficulty.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Coordinates the day-to-day activities of staff that supports the iSeries platform and customer
(client) support
2. Plans and organizes the work through subordinate personnel
3. Assists with coordinating programs and equipment needs with existing operations to insure
compatibility
4. Assists with coordinating computer software equipment acquisition and use
5. Supervises trains and monitors the work of subordinate personnel
6. Participates in program planning project implementation and other related administrative
activities
7. Answers customer questions and resolves complaints
8. Assists in the resolution of employee complaints
9. Implements and enforces established personnel and division policies and procedures
10. Establishes work schedules methods procedures and priorities
11. Researches and prepares reports
12. Assists with special projects as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

3. Effective written and verbal communications skills
4. Knowledge of general management and supervisory techniques and principles
5. Able to plan and coordinate the work or a department or work unit
6. Knowledge of computer hardware and software
7. Knowledge of computer science and computer languages
8. Ability to record and transfer data accurately in a timely manner
9. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion
Degree in Computer Science or IT Administration is preferred
11. Associate Degree in Computer Science or IT Administration with related management experience
12. An equivalent combination of education and similar experience may be substituted
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is technical and clerical in nature with managerial responsibilities. It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech vision and hearing. The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. The work at times requires bending squatting and reaching with the ability to lift carry push or pull weights up to 40 pounds. The incumbent must be able to travel stairs repeatedly.
