Clune Techis a world-leading provider of international taxation finance and fulfilment services to clients in over 100 countries ranging from blue-chip financial service companies to individual investors & cross-border workers.
Sprintax part ofClune Tech is a web-based tax return preparation software that provides a number of tax related services to non-residents in the United States. We help thousands of international visitors such as students scholars teachers trainees researchers work and travel participants and other foreign individuals that are temporary in the United States each year with the preparation of their tax returns.
As we approach tax season we are currently looking for a dedicated Junior Tax Specialist who will be responsible for handling complex nonresident tax cases including preparing and reviewing federal and state returns analyzing tax documents and ensuring accurate treatment in line with IRS and state guidelines. Also supports cross-team communication timely case resolution and other compliance tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle and resolve offline tax cases that cannot be processed automatically by the Sprintax software.
- Prepare and review individual federal and state tax returns (Form 1040 - NR and state equivalents) for nonresident taxpayers.
- Analyze supporting tax documentation income statements ((WS 1099 etc.) and residency information to ensure accurate tax treatment).
- Identify and escalate any complex or high-risk cases to senior team members or tax experts.
- Communicate with other teams via email or internal ticketing systems to clarify missing information and provide updates on case progress.
- Maintain accurate records of tax cases handled and ensure timely resolution in accordance with internal service level agreements.
- Stay up to date with IRS and state tax guidance relevant to nonresident aliens students and scholars.
- Support other operational or compliance tasks as required during peak season.
