You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailUnder the direction of the Aquatics Manager the Aquatics Coordinator (AC) will assist in the supervision of swim instructors promoting safety and efficient work practices. The AC will also assist in planning delivering and assessing in-service training and swim instruction program management the AC will design a tracking system to evaluate swim program progress collaborate with instructors schedule swim lessons and report on scholarship and grant programs. The AC will coordinate aquatic community events gather feedback and participate in promotional activities as needed.

Staff Supervision
Supervise Swim Instructors and all related aquatics personnel as directed.
Practice and teach safe work habits.
Assist with planning implementing and evaluating in-service training sessions and swim instruction techniques.
Lead or assist staff with any aspect of aquatic swim programs including but not limited to swim lessons and American Red Cross programming.
Pool/Member Safety
Respectfully and patiently enforce Camden Kroc Center rules to provide a safe environment for all members visitors and employees.
Rescue swimmers in danger of drowning; respond appropriately to emergencies.
Caution swimmers regarding unsafe areas and actions maintaining order in swimming areas.
Maintain constant observation of assigned areas to identify any signs of danger analyze situations and adopt a quick and effective course of action (i.e. first aid rescue breathing CPR or AED) as needed.
Model safe work habits and contribute to the safety of the Kroc Center co-workers and the general public.
Ensure staff are adhering to and enforcing all Aquatics Safety regulations.
Program Management
Develop and implement a comprehensive system for tracking and evaluating the progress of swim program participants.
Regularly assess students skill levels identify areas for improvement and provide constructive feedback to instructors.
Collaborate with instructors to design individualized swim plans for students with specific needs or goals.
Ensure swim lesson programming is scheduled in an appropriate manner based on Kroc Center needs.
Answer customer questions and provide information on programs offered via calls and emails.
Create reports and data summaries to track the impact and success of scholarship and grant programs.
Assist with gathering aquatic data and information for grant application and reporting.
Event Coordination
Organize promote and oversee family and community events.
Coordinate logistics including staff scheduling equipment setup and member communication in collaboration with Aquatics management team.
Gather feedback from participants to continually improve the quality of these events and enhance community engagement.
Participate in Kroc Center promotional activities and events as necessary.
Miscellaneous
Instruct and assist with group swimming lessons as needed.
Inspect and maintain the cleanliness of all equipment supplies and pool apparatus swimming pool areas pool deck team and storage room locker rooms restrooms trash cans aquatic equipment storage areas and other areas as assigned.
Supervise the setup and breakdown of facility equipment including swim lesson instruction equipment.
Communicate effectively with co-workers and customers in person and over the phone.
Wear standard apparel as the Aquatics Manager prescribes and exhibit a professional appearance while on duty.
Attend required staff meetings and in-service training.
Carry out The Salvation Army mission in your actions and words during your employment. Ensure that the ultimate goal of spiritual emotional and physical regeneration of all people is represented and infused in all programs training customer relations and levels of operation.
Other duties within the scope of the role as assigned by supervisors.
HS Diploma or GED required; must be at least 18 years of age.
American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification; American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
Previous customer service experience is required.
Must commit to working weekends/holidays/evening hours as needed.
American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer preferred; American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer preferred
Two years of previous Swim Instructor experience and three years of active lifeguard experience are preferred.
Must understand and support the mission of The Salvation Army.
