Job Description
Job Title: Sr. Python Developer / Lead (Fixed Income / Capital Markets)
Location: New York City NY
We are seeking a Senior Python Developer / Lead to join the IT Derivatives/Fixed Income team with a focus on designing and implementing Python solutions for Front Office applications. These applications will leverage vendor software such as PyXLL QuestDB ArconTech and Databricks.
The role also involves supporting existing applications that assist with the daily operations of the Front Office Trading Desk including troubleshooting performance optimization and implementing new features aligned with business strategies.
The successful candidate will actively collaborate with quantitative analysts and traders to ensure applications meet business needs and enhance trading productivity.
Duties

Design build and configure Python applications according to business and application requirements.

Gather and analyze requirements by working closely with stakeholders.

Ensure code efficiency maintainability and adherence to best practices.

Collaborate with business teams (trading and quantitative analysts) to understand workflows challenges and requirements.

Provide accurate work estimates (time resources risks) and communicate updates to project managers.

Develop coding architecture for new applications and features including reusable modular code and appropriate design patterns.

Maintain and enhance code quality using static/dynamic code analyses security scans code coverage and CI/CD pipeline gating.

Participate in code reviews automated testing and continuous integration practices.

Engage in all phases of the software delivery lifecycle: requirements gathering design development testing deployment and post-support.

Experienced Python Developer.

Expertise with Python environment installation on both Windows and Linux.

Knowledge of .NET / C#.

Experience with REST APIs (including Enterprise Authentication and Authorization).

MS SQL Server and/or Sybase experience.

Prior experience supporting trading desks.

Bachelors degree in Mathematics Engineering or Computer Science.
