Patient Care Technician I - Monroe Regional Hospital - Cardiac Intermediate - Full Time - Nights

Scope of Position:

Works under close supervision of a licensed nurse and according to established policies procedures and specific instructions performs a variety of basic patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comforts of patients.

One to four weeks of on-the-job training at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital in order to become familiar with job responsibilities and duties the work area and policies and procedures.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills:

• The ability to perform routine patient care functions such as baths taking temperatures pulse and respiration and blood pressures.
• Must be able to follow routine written and/or verbal instructions.
• Must have interpersonal skills required to communicate effectively with patients of the following:
  • Pediatric (8-12 years)
  • Adolescent (13-17 years)
  • Adult (18-64 years)
  • Geriatric (64 years and above)
  • Physicians other hospital personnel as needed to promote quality patient care
