Job Description
Social Media is constantly changing and the way we interact with it evolves almost every day. At Emplifi we work together to create tools that make working with social media easier and more effective.
We the developers of the Burger team work together to empower our users to effortlessly publish their posts media and ideas across social media. We work in an agile environment and are focused on writing good code delivering value and having fun.
While your primary focus will be on front-end features the role also involves back-end development to support end-to-end functionality
We value trust cooperation and working together to improve how we work and what we do continually. We love burgers (including vegan ones!) and enjoy game nights internal workshops and plenty of laughs during meetings.
What Youll Do Here
- Work in a diverse international team using English.
- Lead the design and delivery of our features across the stack with a focus on quality scalability and user value.
- Independently plan your development time we believe you should work when youre most effective.
- Provide technical direction within the team proactively identifying opportunities to improve codebase health architecture and processes.
- Address bugs and user requests digging into issues to find solutions or asking the right questions.
- Write tests to keep our platform reliable and easy to maintain.
- Debug code and help keep technical debt under control.
- Review code clearly and honestly to support high-quality standards.
- Communicate progress on issues and features within the team and across stakeholders.
- Express your opinions clearly and kindly to both your teammates and the Product Manager.
- Actively participate in the scrum process and attend relevant meetings.
- Contribute to cross-team initiatives aimed at improving how we build software at Emplifi.
- Help shape our technical roadmap in alignment with team and company goals.
- Advocate for the user ensuring everything we build serves a real purpose.
What Youll Bring to Us
- 5 years of experience in modern JavaScript/TypeScript across both front-end and back-end.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals (clean code design patterns testing strategies).
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows.
- A proactive mindset you identify problems not just tasks and drive them to resolution.
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability for the code you write
Tools Youll Work With the Most:
- JavaScript (both front-end and back-end with )
- Typescript
- React (core concepts including hooks) and Redux for state management
- CSS preprocessors (mostly Sass)
- Component testing with Jest and Testing Library
- Debugging tools (browser dev tools React DevTools etc.)
Bonus Points For:
Familiarity with one (or more) of these:
- Experience modernizing legacy systems (e.g. Google Closure CoffeeScript).
- Redux Sagas or React Query for managing async logic and separating concerns
- RESTful API patterns
- ElasticSearch (ELK stack)
- Relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL MongoDB)
- RabbitMQ
- Websockets
