We are looking for a Building Maintenance to join our team on a 4-month contract supporting the care and upkeep of our office and retail portfolio in downtown Toronto. This hands-on role plays a key part in ensuring our properties are maintained to the highest standards of safety efficiency and environmental responsibility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of common areas including entrances walkways and facilities.
Conduct routine building and equipment inspections reporting issues to the Operations Supervisor.
Perform basic maintenance and repair work in common areas and tenant spaces (e.g. plumbing fixtures drain snaking breaker resets light and ballast replacements door hardware repairs lock changes).
Complete tenant requests such as hanging whiteboards installing keyboard trays and replacing window blinds.
Use the Building Management System (Angus Anywhere) to respond promptly to tenant work orders and preventive tasks.
Conduct weekly inspections of vacant units and report any unusual conditions.
Assist with contractor access site tours and oversight of third-party work.
Maintain an organized inventory of tools equipment and supplies; provide recommendations for replenishment.
Safely lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
Perform other maintenance tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical training an asset.
23 years of experience in building maintenance and basic repairs.
Familiarity with Angus Anywhere or similar work order systems is an asset.
Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures (WHMIS Lockout/Tagout fall protection mould remediation) preferred.
Strong service orientation and commitment to maintaining high standards.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
