We are looking for a Research Assistant (RA) to perform multiscale simulations to gain fundamental understanding of the deformation mechanism and fracture behavior of additive manufactured (AM) alloys and develop physics-based models to predict the mechanical properties.
Responsibilities:
Perform microstructure characterization and mechanical property testing on 3D-printed mechanical parts.
Develop a machine learning model for high-throughput evaluation of the mechanical properties of 3D-printed metallic parts.
Collaborate with other group members (including PhD students and research staff).
Publish research findings in reputable international journals.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Materials Science or a closely related field.
In-depth knowledge in metallic materials and additive manufacturing.
Good publication record (at least one first-author paper in international journals).
Experimental skills in materials characterization and properties testing.
Strong self-motivation and responsibility for research/work.
Good communication and writing in English for research work.
