About the role
The IT Business Analyst will support efforts to enhance innovation streamlining processes and fostering collaboration across our global wine-making organisation. This position focuses on translating business needs into effective technology solutions that support our industry leadership.
In this collaborative role youll work closely with cross-functional teams to generate ideas prioritise initiatives and support project delivery. Youll also be responsible for gathering requirements and helping implement solutions that align with strategic business goals.
This role is ideal for a Business Analyst with experience in China Marketing and Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) technology ecosystemsparticularly WeChat/Tencent platforms and loyalty program features.
Business Partnership
- Strategic Partnerships: Build relationships with stakeholders in supply finance and shared services functions. Your ability to communicate and connect will be important in understanding their needs.
- Join discussions with technology and business partners about technology opportunities that could improve business processes and existing solutions.
- Idea Scoping and Exploration: Assist in the process of developing ideas ensuring they are well-defined aligned with business goals and have potential for impact.
Business Analysis and Solution Design
- Scoring and Analysis: Use analytical skills to evaluate ideas using a value/risk matrix. Your input will help guide decision-making and resource allocation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Help bridge communication between business units and technology teams eliciting translating and validating requirements to support the implementation of projects.
- Employ understanding of change management methodologies.
- Demonstrate familiarity with solution delivery life cycle.
Development Technical Analysis and Configuration
- Help prepare project documentation to support the funding approval process such as Business Cases and Cost Benefit Analyses.
- Help define project scope deliverables and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Assist in estimating and managing work items to help deliver projects within approved budgets.
- Follow quality standards to ensure IT project governance and guidelines are met.
- Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate familiarity with Software Development methodologies (Waterfall and Agile).
- Help configure applications according to agreed solution designs.
- Assist in providing data extractions for business units using reporting tools and/or basic SQL.
Support and Maintenance
- Support IT services and help ensure systems meet business requirements.
- Help investigate diagnose and resolve issues with IT systems when needed.
Testing
- Assist in coordinating business personnel for testing and evaluating new functions and applications.
- Help create and manage test plans.
- Assist in creating and executing system integration/regression test cases.
- Support the creation of user acceptance test cases.
- Help ensure tests are executed and documented according to agreed standards.
Support & Application Training
- Assist in transitioning implemented software applications to support resources/vendors.
- Provide basic business process knowledge and functional capability knowledge.
- Offer support for software applications as needed.
About you
- Bachelors degree in IT computer science or related technical field or equivalent experience
- 2-5 years of Business Analysis or equivalent experience: This should include experience in requirements gathering process modelling and documentation. Demonstrate significant experience analysing business processes and contributing to technology solutions.
- Experience in implementing Digital marketing direct to consumer engagement & loyalty technologies in the Chinese market is highly preferred.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Experience in working with stakeholders from various business functions such as supply finance and shared services. Ability to understand their needs and challenges. Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
- Ability to handle challenging situations and work under pressure.
- Innovation and Ideation: Previous involvement in contributing to innovation initiatives and participating in brainstorming sessions for process optimisation and technology adoption.
- Data Analysis: Proficiency in analysing data to support decision-making and experience with using value/risk matrices or similar frameworks to evaluate and prioritise ideas.
- Technical Aptitude: A general understanding of technology trends data management systems and software solutions relevant to the wine industry is helpful. Communication: Strong communication skills including the ability to explain ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Willingness to learn from and support team members.
- High proficiency in written and verbal English.
- Change Management: Familiarity with change management principles and the ability to adapt to technological changes and process improvements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with different departments to achieve common goals and promote collaboration.
- Business Acumen: A reasonable understanding of business operations financial principles and the ability to connect technology solutions with business needs. Understanding of local regulations and standards particularly in IT and data management.
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to address business challenges and propose solutions using analytical thinking.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and managing tasks in a dynamic environment. Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere through professional behaviour and communication with clients customers co-workers and management.
