The opportunity
SNHUs Office of External Affairs and Communications (OEAC) is seeking a motivated reliable student worker with strong writing skills and excellent attention to detail. As a Communications Assistant youll assist the communications team with inbox management writing and editing research project management and general communications support. This is a great opportunity for a student who wants to gain hands-on experience in the communications field.
Learning Outcomes:
- Gain experience using a communications toolkit to craft responses and draft new talking points that support consistent messaging.
- Develop familiarity with communications and project management software.
- Strengthen writing copyediting and research skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inbox Management:Respond to student inquiries about university-verified achievements and SNHUs student success platform Merit.
- Writing & Content Development:Build content in Salesforce Marketing Cloud for scheduled communications offer content suggestions assist with drafting written content upload content to digital communication channels and provide general writing and editing support.
- Quality Assurance:Support content review and proofreading processes to ensure messages meet SNHUs editorial standards and are error-free.
- Research & Data Reporting: Conduct research compile data reports and gather supporting materials to inform team decision-making and communication strategies.
- Project Management:Build and maintain projects in the teams project management software Wrike.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program.
- Preference will be given to NH-based candidates pursuing a degree or concentration in Communication Marketing Creative Writing and English Liberal Arts or a related field.
Work Hours:
- The teams typical office hours are Monday Friday 8 am 4:30 pm with coverage for events on nights and weekends as needed. Hours for this position will not exceed 20 hours per week and the schedule will be set with the supervisor week to week based on the needs of the department.
- Approximately 5-10 hours per week to be completed on-site at SNHU offices on campus or in downtownManchester (55 South Commercial Street). Reliable transportation is required.
- Flexibility to complete remaining hours remotely.

Compensation
