OVERVIEW:
The Community Aide will support the Communications Team at Baltimore City Department of Transportation (BCDOT) by assisting with content creation media monitoring and public information efforts. Responsibilities include drafting news and social media content translating technical information into public-facing language compiling weekly traffic advisories tracking incoming media inquiries and cataloging press mentions and earned media. Community Aide will also monitor media coverage and support the team in helping to ensure accurate timely and effective public communication.
Ideal candidateswill have:
Strong writing and editing skills
Familiarity with newswriting and digital content creation
Ability to simplify complex technical information
Experience with social media platforms and monitoring tools
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Interest or experience in public service transportation or civic communications
