Job Summary

Shape the future of transportation in Chicago and beyond. TYLin is seeking an accomplished Lead Civil Engineer to drive the design and delivery of utility land development and stormwater systems for high-profile transportation and transit facilities. This is a career-defining opportunity for an experienced Professional Engineer to lead technically complex projects while mentoring the next generation of engineers.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What Youll Do

  • Lead the planning design and delivery of civil engineering components for transportation and transit projects with a strong focus on utilities site development grading and stormwater management systems.

  • Serve as the technical authority on project design decisions ensuring quality innovation and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

  • Utilize AutoCAD and MicroStation to produce and review detailed engineering drawings models and plans.

  • Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams fostering collaboration between engineers designers and external stakeholders.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers providing technical training performance feedback and career development support.

  • Support business development by contributing to proposals client presentations and project planning.

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time on budget and to the highest standards of technical excellence.

What Youll Bring

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (Masters preferred).

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois or ability to obtain Illinois licensure through reciprocity within 6 months of hire.

  • Minimum 15 years of progressive career experience in civil engineering with a strong portfolio of utility grading and stormwater designs for transportation or transit projects.

  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation is required.

  • Proven track record of leading technical teams and mentoring emerging professionals.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients agencies and multidisciplinary teams.

Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment we have provided the base compensation range of$130000 - $200000 annually for this position and local market. We recognize that each candidate brings a unique set of skills experience education and competencies to the table that will be reflected in our offer.TYLin is proud to offer exciting career development opportunities.
