Job Summary
As a Business Development Intern you will be exposed to multiple aspects of Summit Farms extensive farming operation and other business development activities in Agriculture. The position is responsible for managing projects and completing tasks in an accurate and timely manner associated with livestock facility acquisitions and construction farmland management and much more. The position will be based at our Alden Iowa headquarters.
Internship Program:
Summits internship program is tailored to give you a unique experience while allowing you to grow in your area of study. You will be expected to work hard and think with an entrepreneurial spirit in order to contribute your ideas for improving Summits businesses. While you will report to the Business Development Manager your overall experience will be overseen by our Internship Program Coordinator who will help to ensure a successful internship experience for you. At the end of the summer you will be asked to present a comprehensive presentation to Summits management team outlining the experiences results and accomplishments you experienced during your time in the program.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and oversight of both new construction and acquisition projects.
- Conduct research to assist the Business Development team in gaining strategic insights into marking opportunities for potential targets and partnerships.
- Respond to/engage with leads in order to build potential development opportunities.
- Assist in drafting executing and managing many types of agreements including but not limited to Purchase Agreements and Easements.
- Work with the livestock production staff on projects related to business development.
- Maintain and cultivate relationships with stakeholders landowners and community members.
- Manager other special projects as assigned.
