Assistant Professor Tenure Track Positions in Finance at the University of British Columbia
The Faculty of Management at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan Campus) invites applications for two (2) full-time tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level. The anticipated start date for the positions is July 1 2026 or a mutually agreed upon date. We are inviting applications from candidates with expertise in at least one of the areas of asset pricing corporate finance and/or behavioral finance particularly those combining rigorous theoretical insights with empirical methods. Both positions are subject to budgetary approval.
Qualifications
The successful candidates will possess:
Duties include: developing and maintaining an active high-impact research program aimed at making a significant contribution to the profession with publications in leading finance journals; teaching in our undergraduate and graduate programs supervising Ph.D. students in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies program; as well as contributing to other teaching and administrative initiatives of the Faculty of Management. Teaching and service requirements are similar to other research-intensive universities. Candidates are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
The Faculty consists of management faculty who are diverse in their expertise and undertake research with a wide range of themes. More information about the Faculty can be found on its website at applications will not be reviewed. Applications must include:

4. two research papers and/or a dissertation proposal
5. statement of your teaching philosophy and approach to mentoring and supervision including a record of teaching evaluations
6. a one-page statement identifying your contributions or potential contributions to Equity Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) along with your ability to work with culturally diverse and international students and
7. names of three references (letters will be requested directly from the referee).

Anticipated start date for review of applications is October 6 2025 and will continue until the positions are filled. As standard for all UBC Assistant Professor hires the initial appointment is for 4 years with the possibility of renewal subject to the availability of funds and work performance.
The Faculty will be in attendance at the 2025 FMA Annual meeting October 22-25 2025 in Vancouver Canada and shortlisted candidates will be interviewed at this time.
