Shift: Monday-Friday 10:00am-7:00pm EST
Location: This role is onsite at our Lockbourne Distribution Center with no opportunity for remote work.
The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day management of the companys freight movement both inbound and outbound. The individual must be tactically driven and be a subject matter expert with Truckload LTL and third-party brokerage. The role is required to operate within the confines of the companys Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and will be considered a super user of the system.
Manage inbound and outbound routes for the DCs.
Provide rate quotes.
Manage proof of delivery information.
Assist the DCs with legacy carrier issues.
Assist with transportation deviations.
Plan redistribution routes.
Manage private and contracted transportation Fleets.
Manage outsourced transportation providers including dedicated contract services (DCS).
Support and adhere to DOT compliance policies.
Ensure operation costs adhere to budgets and financial goals.
Load tendering and freight coordination of inbound and outbound LTL and Truckload shipments utilizing TMS and other forms of third-party communication including EDI transactions.
Ensure ICS transportation operations comply with all FDA and Haz-Mat regulations.
Assist with projects as requested by the Logistics & Transportation Manager.
Support and assist in resolution of Transportation department TMS systems operations.
Manage TMS.
Maintain LTL and truckload contracts in TMS.
Manage all intercompany shipments from Cross Dock facility to all company Distribution Centers.
Data entry in TMS for proper Shipping documentation (BOL for TMS).
Prepare and publish weekly monthly quarterly and annual reports to track costs and on-time delivery performance.
Audit freight bills for billing accuracy.
Work to continuously improve business processes and designs by developing and providing data that results in the implementation of initiatives that reduce cost improve effectiveness and improve the quality or magnitude of the end results.
Education:
Five years of experience in supply chain operations logistics transportation and freight management desired. Bachelors degree in Transportation Logistics or related field strongly preferred.
Experience:
An understanding and ability to operate in the third-party transportation business as a freight broker/agent in TMS is required.
Technical experience and a strong understanding of the Transportation Management System and other supporting technologies comprehensive knowledge of carrier rate structures and knowledge of SMC3 is desired.
A strong understanding of Microsoft Word Excel and Access is required.
The successful candidate will have strong written and oral communication skills analytical skills critical thinking and problem- solving skills.
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and strong self-motivation is necessary.
