Job Description

Job title: Payroll Specialist (USA payroll)
Location: Guadalajara (Providencia Office)
Summary:
Hersheys Payroll Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate bi-weekly payroll and time processing of manufacturing sites throughout the United States. The Payroll Specialist oversees the automated payroll software SAP and partners with HR and IS teams to troubleshoot and resolve system data integrity errors
Additional partnerships include Legal Employee Relations Finance and Operations working collectively to ensure all data is accurately being passed and processed
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Process US bi-weekly payroll in SAP accurately and timely.
Ensure compliance with federal state and local payroll tax regulations.
Perform data entry for new hires terminations and employee changes.
Research variances regarding past pay cycles updating lien garnishment documentation legal inquiries and audit questions or concerns.
Ensures all post processing interface jobs are successfully processed Posting to SAPs finance module (GL posting third party payment posting / garnishments) deposit file positive pay file retirement and other data interfaces.
Customer service focused with detail on employee support and personal data confidentiality.
Process prior quarter wage and tax adjustments.
Handle and implement all company payroll policies and procedures to ensure requirements are followed consistently every payroll.
Assist in year-end processing to ensure accuracy of W-2s
Maintain payroll files and records.
Work on special payroll projects as needed.
Run adhoc reports upon request.
Provide support and coverage for other team members.
Minimum knowledge skills and abilities:
High level of attention to detail
Commitment to excellence and demonstration of flexibility in working hours during peak periods
Knowledge of SAP federal state and local taxation
Technology and systems savvy
Great written and verbal communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines and work with highly confidential matters
Ability to collaborate and work effectively with peers and/or within cross functional teams
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum of five years experience with multi state payroll processing using an automated software solution preferably SAP
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance HR Business or related field preferred (combination of education experience and certifications considered)
