We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Grant Writer to join our civil engineering team.
We are seeking a skilled Grant Writer to support our firm in securing funding opportunities for infrastructure and public works projects in partnership with municipal clients. The ideal candidate will be experienced in identifying local government grant opportunities preparing funding proposals and collaborating with technical teams to develop grant applications that align with engineering and municipal objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Research relevant federal state local and private grant programs.
- Analyze eligibility and compliance requirements for prospective funding sources.
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams to collect technical data budgets timelines and -measurable outcomes.
- Write persuasive tailored grant proposals aligned with funder guidelines.
- Prepare detailed supporting materials (budgets schedules compliance documents).
- Manage proposal timelines to ensure on-time submissions.
- Track application status and maintain comprehensive records of all grant activity.
- Assist with post-award management including reporting and compliance.
- Monitor funding trends and programs relevant to civil engineering and infrastructure.
Qualifications:
*Bachelors degree in English Public Administration Urban Planning Engineering or a related field.
*2 years of experience in grant writing or funding development preferably in infrastructure public works or municipal services.
*Strong understanding of civil engineering terminology infrastructure project lifecycles and government grant application processes (e.g. DCNR DOT EPA FEMA USDA etc.).
*Excellent technical writing and research skills with attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
*Familiarity with public-sector funding sources including federal and state grant programs relevant to municipalities.
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with grant databases and portals (e.g. state-specific systems).
*Ability to work in a team environment.
