Job Description

Universal Kids Resort is designed to spark the imagination of children with a truly unique experience compared to existing destinations. Located in Frisco TX this new project aims to inspire wonder in visitors of all ages. With a primary focus on families with young children it creates a distinctive working environment. With a park designed to ignite the art of play and a 300-room family hotel to provide continued excitement for the children and relaxation for the adults you could find yourself working in a variety of environments. These could include working in various climate conditions standing for long periods and in noisy environments. The working hours are unique often covering weekends and holidays plus evenings. JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for attraction recovery preventive and corrective maintenance troubleshooting and repair of Universal Kids Resort attractions show and water play areas. Responsible for troubleshooting all ride and show mechanical aspects and systems of the attractions following OEM specifications and requirements. Assists with repair of animation special effects and water elements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responds to and assists in the recovery and repair of attractions show effects and water play areas. Troubleshoots down to failed components using schematics leak detection equipment vibration analysis and other specialized tools and equipment.
  • Performs preventative and predictive maintenance as prescribed by OEM or engineering team both internal and third-party specifications. This would include changing time-limited parts calibrating equipment per OEM specifications filtration systems and cleaning lubricating and maintaining equipment. Responsible for the disassembly and required repairs and replacements for mechanical components during annual inspections on ride vehicles. Verifies all quality control and NDT requirements have been met prior to assembly.
  • Completes inspections and creates necessary work orders for discrepancies found. Follows correct chain of command to notify Ride & Show Management when necessary.
  • Performs repairs to equipment due to safety reliability or show quality issues found during preventative maintenance daily inspections or downtimes to improve ride reliability and show quality. Performs modifications per engineering team both internal and third party or OEM specifications.
  • Enters follow-up work orders for all discrepancies found in a timely manner. Documents all findings and work performed throughout the process of troubleshooting and performing repairs. Reports on labor in Maximo for all work performed. Demonstrates the ability to acquire skills in additional disciplines to support a broader range of operational and project needs.
  • Completes PQS qualification across UKRs attractions shows and water play areas. Trains new Technicians to do venue-specific PM work orders recovery procedures and processes. Assists with seasonal weather condition sustainment initiatives as directed.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy procedures training and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Must be willing to work varying hours including evenings and weekends to support seasonal maintenance initiatives.

  • Training is required and will be provided prior to performing the inspections.

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED is required; Associates or Technical degree in related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • 3 years of experience in troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical systems as well as hydraulic and mechanical systems either in the theme park industry or other industrial industries; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
