About the Job


The PAID Program (Parenting Attachment & Individual Development) helps parents build strong healthy relationships with their children through group and individual sessions. As a Family Support Worker youll support infants children and families by:

  • Leading engaging group sessions on parenting attachment and individual awareness
  • Supporting families with tools strategies and resources that build attachment communication problem-solving safety and life skills
  • Sharing knowledge of child development and guiding parents through key milestones
  • Providing child-minding for toddlers and young children modeling positive behaviours
  • Assisting with group needs such as food shopping and meal preparation
  • Working with families to identify strengths and needs co-create goals and develop practical intervention strategies
  • Collaborating with MCFD and community partners to ensure family goals are met including participating in integrated case meetings (ICMs)
  • Offering follow-up support and referrals to connect families with additional services
  • Assisting with operational duties in the Supervised and Supportive Visitation program

What You Bring

  • Degree (preferred) or diploma in human/social services or related field
  • One year of recent related experience including experience facilitating educational groups
  • Or a combination of education training and experience

  • You advocate for children and families ensuring their voices are heard and respected
  • You thrive as part of a team but are equally comfortable working independently and taking initiative
  • Youre organized and communicate clearly with accurate and thoughtful written documentation


Other Musts

  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License and clean driving record
  • Access to a personal vehicle with Business Use insurance and $5M third-party liability (mileage reimbursement provided)
  • Willingness to complete required training (provided at no cost); current certification in CPR-C Mandt SafeTALK Safe Food Handling MCFD Privacy and Anti-Bullying & Harassment is an asset
  • Union membership required (1.85% dues deducted per pay)
  • Consent to Criminal Record Checks with vulnerable sector search (Reimbursement of related costs upon hire)


PROGRAM: Parenting Attachment and Individual Development (P.A.I.D) with occasional support for the Supervised and Supportive Visitation

LOCATION: Kamloops BC

STATUS: Full-time

HOURS of WORK: 36.5 hrs per week

SCHEDULE: Mon to Fri - Day Hours - Requires flexible availability including some evenings and weekends based on clients needs.

REPORTS TO: P.A.I.D. Program Coordinator

COMPENSATION: $29.17 - $33.49 per hour (Grid 12 as per collective agreement)
