Position Summary

The Barback supports bartenders by ensuring the bar is stocked clean and operating efficiently. This behind-the-scenes role is essential to smooth bar operations and customer satisfaction. The Barback replenishes supplies clears glassware and assists in maintaining a clean and organized work area.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $12.00 to $14.00 and is tip eligible

About the Venue

A fixture in Milwaukee for over 50 years MPAC is home to four major resident companies: Black Arts MKE First Stage The Florentine Opera and Milwaukee Ballet. MPAC is proud to be part of the Milwaukee Theater District as well as a dedicated War Memorial facility honoring those who bravely served our country.

Responsibilities

  • Stock bars with liquor beer wine mixers ice glassware and other supplies
  • Remove trash empty bus tubs and keep bar area clean and organized
  • Assist bartenders with restocking and setting up for service
  • Clean and polish bar tools glasses and equipment
  • Maintain knowledge of product locations and assist in inventory rotation
  • Support bartenders during busy periods to ensure timely service
  • Follow health and safety regulations at all times
  • Other duties as assigned by the bartender or manager

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in hospitality is a plus but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced high-volume environment
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Excellent time management and teamwork skills
  • Must meet minimum age requirements to work in establishments serving alcohol
  • Flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays
