You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Head of Finance has overall responsibility for the financial reporting outputs of Transport Scotland including monthly reporting and the production of the Annual Report and Accounts for the support of operational processes and information to inform financial decision making by Senior Management and by Ministers.
The postholder will be a member of the Directorates senior management team leading the finance team and supporting the Director and Chief Executive.

Skill Level:
Expert - Expert Knowledge of the topic with day to day use in role/extensive prior experience
Highly effective leadership communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence negotiate and collaborate effectively with a range of staff and stakeholders.
Strong planning and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage a diverse workload adapt to changing situations and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
The ability to think and act strategically and make links across policy and organisational boundaries. Political acuity.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to communicate complex financial information clearly succinctly and to a wide range of audiences.

Working Pattern
Our standard hours are 35 hours per week. We offer a range of flexible and hybrid working options depending on the needs of the role. If you have specific questions about the role you are applying for please contact us.
You will require to be office based twice per week.
Successful candidates must complete the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) before they can be appointed. BPSS is comprised of four main pre-employment checks Identity Right to work Employment History and a Criminal Record check (unspent convictions).
