Job Description
Fox Trail Memory Care Living is seeking an experienced and hands-on Senior Director of Maintenance to lead the oversight of maintenance operations across our New Jersey-based memory care communities. This role combines strategic oversight with real-world facility knowledge-ideal for a candidate who understands both leadership and the mechanics of maintaining warm safe home-like environments.
About the Role:
The Senior Director of Maintenance will oversee maintenance teams across multiple properties ensuring facilities are maintained to the highest safety and quality standards. This individual will lead the development and execution of preventive maintenance programs ensure regulatory compliance manage vendor relationships and provide coaching to on-site maintenance staff.
Were looking for a candidate with a strong background in residential building systems-HVAC plumbing appliances and general contracting-who also excels at team leadership budgeting and cross-departmental collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead supervise and support maintenance teams across multiple Fox Trail communities
Conduct regular inspections of building systems equipment and grounds
Oversee repairs and installations of appliances hot water heaters HVAC systems plumbing and electrical fixtures
Manage and enforce preventive maintenance schedules using TELS or similar platforms
Ensure company-wide compliance with state and local building codes safety regulations and DOH requirements
Source negotiate and manage vendor and contractor relationships
Participate in budgeting and capital planning for maintenance operations
Assist with hiring onboarding and development of maintenance associates and community-level maintenance leads
Respond to maintenance emergencies and provide operational support as needed
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in facilities or maintenance management (preferably in residential hospitality or senior living environments)
Working knowledge of building trades: HVAC plumbing electrical carpentry and appliances
Proven experience leading teams across multiple sites or communities
Strong communication organizational and problem-solving skills
Proficient in maintenance software platforms (TELS experience preferred)
Bilingual in English/Spanish strongly preferred
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation required
HVAC certification or general contractors license a plus
