The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Business and Financial Services Division in Helena.
The Accounts Payable (AP) section processes over 800000 payments to approximately more than 70000 clients and vendors in addition to processing all employee and non-employee travel for the entire agency. The section also provides internal controls and financial monitoring to ensure compliance with all state and federal accounting policies and guidelines.
This position is responsible for processing a variety of payments; many of which are high dollar Medicaid and hospital payments. The person in this position is responsible for maintaining control of accounting records and reports that are complex in nature and involve a variety of funding techniques and controls. This position utilizes accounting theory and financial auditing practices State statues the SABHRS system several accounting subsystems (including but not limited to CAPS MMIS SFSL OPTUM MAE and AWACS) regulations and statues related to the programs and functions of the section.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity
Knowledge of governmental accounting and financial reporting principles.
Skill in analytical and interpretive thinking skills research and evaluations.
Ability to analyze large accounting systems and interpret data from various reports and information maintained by the system.
Meet minimum qualifications:
Bachelors degree in accounting finance business or a related field.
Three to four years of job-related work experience.
Combination of education and experiences will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
