Job Description
As a Shop Technician Intern at Summit Agricultural Group you will gain knowledge and work experience in a large-scale farming operation with specific responsibilities pertaining to preventative maintenance and service needs. The position will be based at our Alden Iowa headquarters.
Internship Program
Summits internship program is tailored to give you a unique experience while allowing you to grow in your area of study. Youll be expected to work hard and think with an entrepreneurial spirit in order to contribute your ideas for improving Summits businesses. While you will report to the Shop Manager your overall experience will be overseen by our Internship Program Coordinator who will help to ensure a successful internship experience for you. Throughout the internship you will have the opportunity to see all areas of Summit. At the end of the internship you will be asked to present a comprehensive presentation to Summits management team outlining the experiences results and accomplishments you experienced during your time in the program.
Responsibilities
- Assist in performing maintenance and repairs on Summit equipment. This may include but not limited to the following:
- On-road passenger vehicles and tractors
- Tire repairs and replacement
- Detailing
- Oil Changes
- On-road passenger vehicles and tractors
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair various mechanical issues.
- Various metal fabrication duties with preferred welding experience.
- Assist with special projects and minor construction.
- Opportunities to cross train in other operational departments.
- Ability to operate equipment such as but not limited to tractors grain carts skid loaders forklift and field cultivators as needed.
