About The Role

Fever is looking for a self-composed resourceful and highly adaptable US qualified litigation lawyer to oversee litigation strategy and execution. Reporting directly to the senior legal leadership of the company and located in the global HQ in Madrid as litigation counsel you will familiarize yourself closely with Fevers mission and vision structure strategy and objectives in order to drive strategies that promote and defend Fevers interests in a wide variety of pre-litigation disputes litigation regulatory inquiries and other adversarial proceedings in the US and with the support of regional inhouse teams globally. You will work closely with both internal stakeholders (including senior management HR finance and business development among others) and external advisersdirecting outside counsel as neededto assess and manage risk and drive efficient conflict this leadership role you will guide the company through complex and interesting legal challenges on the path to responsible and conscientious growth. This role provides a unique opportunity for a creative lawyer to not only resolve disputes when they occur but also to take an active role in shaping a strategic vision to maximize the long term prosperity of the company by identifying and mitigating risks before they materialize and to grow into a senior leadership position within the department.

About the Role

Managing a junior litigation counsel and coordinating through dotted line reporting to a wide range of regional in-house lawyers you will be expected to take ownership of the dispute resolution matters in the US and similar jurisdictions and coordinate the strategy of such matters elsewhere. You will:

  • Set and execute litigation pre-litigation and enforcement strategies across commercial employment IP consumer and other litigation and regulatory enforcement matters.
  • Drive litigation management including early case assessment steering external counsel (engagement coordination and management) and settlement trial and appeal strategy.
  • Handle regulatory matters including coordinating responses to government audits and other regulatory inquiries (subpoenas investigations and enforcement actions).
  • Work closely with Fevers internal human resources and people management teams to ensure compliance with applicable local national and international labor and employment legislation. Help guide global staffing strategy in an evolving global landscape.
  • Ensure prompt investigation and resolution of claims arising out of Fevers Equal and Fair Workplace Policy. Promote fair and objective conflict resolution to ensure just outcomes for parties involved.
  • Work closely with Fevers liability and crisis management teams in responding to incidents and continuously improve Fevers risk assessment and management policies and procedures.
  • Implement matter-management metrics and executive reporting.
  • Collaborate with the insurance team to ensure the company effectively liaises with insurers on notifications coverage strategy and recoveries.
  • Manage one or more junior lawyers and other specialists as well as coach regional generalist lawyers when working with them and contribute to a high-impact diverse LGRC team.

About You

  • Be a US barred lawyer with 5 years (8 preferred) of litigation experience either in a law firm governmental in house or non-profit setting.
  • Possess exceptional judgment and discretion and the confidence and ability to communicate effectively with senior management.
  • Able to efficiently distill complex legal problems into succinct clear and actionable advice and drive business-forward solutions.
  • Have excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Be a highly emotionally intelligent professional and communicator. Poised under pressure.
