Job Description

Overview

As our Pharmacist Infusion Services at St. Lukes Health - Woodlands Hospital now part of CommonSpirit Health youll help our doctors and nurses safely prescribe and dispense medications to help our patients feel better and recover from their illness or injury.

Youll build trust in these interactions by reviewing every prescription in your queue. We never rely entirely on the computer to check for safety; we always use an expert for the final check. Thats you. Youll review prescriptions for potential drug interactions correct dosing patient allergies or anything that looks unusual in your opinion.

To excel in this role you must enjoy learning new concepts and researching information in real-time to provide solutions for our patients. You should also continually look for ways to go above and beyond for your patients delivering an exceptional experience along with exceptional care.

The Woodlands Hospital a primary and secondary care hospital serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. Clinical services include cardiovascular services diagnostic imaging womens services neurosciences pediatric care and surgery pathology and pulmonary services and sleep disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Provides pharmacy services and care to all patients serviced by an outpatient oncology pharmacy area.
  • Develops clinical pharmacy standards related to oncology pharmacy according to the organizational policies/procedures for ensuring the quality of medication therapy.
    • Monitors therapy and consults with other professional providers provides education services to all clients and healthcare team provides accurate and comprehensive patient specific drug information to patients/families and works to continually improve clinical care and systems
  • Performs all distributive functions of the department; physician order interpretation order entry into EMR therapy monitoring IV admixture functions checking of technician activity monitoring delivery systems computer operation and stock control.

Qualifications

Required education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science or PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy
  • 5 years of experience in Pharmacy in lieu of Board Certification

Perferred Educadtion and Experience:

  • 2 years of oncology or infusion pharmacy experience

Required Licensure and Certifications:

  • Active State Pharmacist License
