Job Description

  • Editor in Chief-IWC Support Services
  • Employment Type: Full Time
  • Location: Crystal City VA and various other sites
  • This position is contingent upon contract award.

The Editor in Chief -IWC Support Services is primarily responsible for overall vison direction and management for the production of the PRISM a quarterly Journal focused on IW with global distribution and world class content.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide research analytical support copy editing and proofreading/editing support on all submitted journal products.
  • Engage with IW academic global network for content research projects and papers to support the production of the Journal.
  • Provide support for the layout printing and distribution of a global Journal to ensure delivery to key stakeholders across USG academia and with our Allies and Partners.
  • Support the development of a quarterly publication of a high-quality color magazine with global distribution to over 500 stakeholders.
  • Support in the governments distribution and delivery of the journal throughout US and international delivery as .
  • Provide online distribution and download availability of the journal.
  • Support the development and maintenance and maintain an advisory board of recognized global IW experts to guide and advise the production of the journal further develop its network and support the development and production of a world class articles in the journal.
  • Support the development and review all public publications social media newsletters press releases news releases: social media IWC Websites.
  • Collaborate closely with the Program Manager to align engagements and other work with the project plan.

Required Qualifications

  • Bacheors in journalism English or related field; Masters Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years proven experience as an Editor-in-Chief or Senior Editor or in a similar leadership role for a professional publication
  • Demonstrated experience with digital publishing and content management systems
  • Excellent understanding of media law and ethical guidelines
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding writing research and editing skills
  • Must possess a Secret security clearance.
