Inside Sales Rep- Building Materials

JOB SUMMARY:

Palm City Millwork is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to serve as the primary in-house resource for walk-in customers contractors and builders. This role is responsible for guiding customers through product selections processing orders preparing quotes and ensuring exceptional customer service from initial inquiry through project completion. Unlike Outside Sales Representatives this position is based at our office/showroom focusing on walk-in traffic phone/email inquiries and in-house sales support. Prior knowledge of millwork products is highly preferred.

The Inside Sales Representative position serves as a pathway to an Outside Sales role offering hands-on experience in sales support and customer interaction before transitioning into field sales responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Welcome and assist walk-in customers contractors and builders with product information and selections.
• Communicate with customers in person by phone and via email to provide timely support and service.
• Accurately enter and process customer orders quotes and proposals.
• Guide customers through product selections including hardware trim doors and millwork.
• Prepare written proposals and provide detailed project support from start to finish.
• Coordinate deliveries and scheduling with the Logistics team.
• Provide basic technical assistance and guidance regarding product installation.
• Assist walk-in customers with loading purchased materials as needed.
• Ensure all customer documentation is complete accurate and delivered promptly.
• Maintain strong customer relationships while actively pursuing new business opportunities through quotes and service excellence.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience and/or Training:

• Previous sales or customer service experience preferably in millwork construction or building materials.
• Experience assisting customers with sales-related issues and providing real-time support throughout the sales process (bidding quoting closing and follow-up).
• Proficiency with computers order entry systems and Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational skills; disciplined dependable and resourceful.
• Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency to meet customer needs.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent time management written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive and professional attitude.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee frequently is required to stand walk use hands and fingers handle or feel as well as reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to sit climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision peripheral vision depth perception the ability to see and differentiate color and to focus.
