Volunteer Service Coordinator
This position will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of our volunteer programs ensuring that volunteers are engaged supported and motivated to contribute to the organizations mission. The Volunteer Services Coordinator will work closely with various departments to coordinate volunteer efforts foster positive relationships with volunteers and track the impact of volunteer initiatives.
This is a full-time non-exempt (35 hour/week) position. We offer a hybrid remote schedule. Our office is located in Malden MA with ample free parking!
Starting annual salary is $50000 ($27.47/hour) with a 6% increase available for bilingual candidates in languages commonly spoken by MVES consumers.

Job Activities:
- Develop and execute strategies for recruiting volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
- Lead the onboarding process ensuring volunteers are fully trained and have the resources they need to be successful.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with volunteers ensuring they feel valued and appreciated.
- Create engaging volunteer experiences through recognition programs social events and regular communication.
- Serve as the main point of contact for volunteers responding to inquiries and providing ongoing support.
Other Activities:
- Create and maintain clear communication channels with volunteers which could include newsletters emails and social media updates.
- Monitor volunteer satisfaction and gather feedback to improve volunteer programs.
- Match volunteers with appropriate opportunities and ensure volunteer roles are well-defined.
Key Success Measures:
- Volunteer engagement and referrals increased including high retention of volunteers
- Conduct regular outreach recruitment and engagement activities for volunteers
- Develop engaging volunteer orientation and staff development for working with volunteers
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or 1 year of equivalent experience
- Familiarity with or readiness to learn the trends needs and challenges of older adults in adopting technology
- Bilingual skills preferred
- Highly resourceful team player with the ability to work effectively independently or as a team with volunteers and program staff
- Continuously seeks to improve efficiency and/or simplification of processes
- Demonstrates a willingness to take on new tasks with a general attitude that no task is too small impossible or cannot be improved
- Excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels
- Must be detail oriented well organized and proven ability to manage multiple projects
- Expertise in the following platforms: Microsoft Office (Word Outlook Teams Excel and PowerPoint) Adobe Pro Zoom and other web-based applications
- Private transportation
Physical Requirements of the Job:
- Ability to lift push pull and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Ability to climb up and down stairs unassisted
- Work requires regular standing stooping and bending
- Ability to travel to the community to perform visits at clients homes private transportation required
