Job Description
Bowtie is seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer. This role is crucial in maintaining the performance reliability and scalability of our cutting-edge insurance technology platform ensuring our systems run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
This is a strategic and hands-on technical leadership role that innovates and continuously improves Bowties infrastructure and system architecture.
Infrastructure Management
- Ensure the reliability and performance of the production and non-production environment/ system through monitoring and incident response.
- Develop and maintain system documentation focusing on comprehensive coverage and clarity.
- Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention in system management.
Performance Optimization
- Conduct regular performance tests and analysis to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
- Work with software engineers to incorporate performance improvements in application design.
Security and Compliance
- Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Stay informed of the latest security threats and proactively address potential vulnerabilities.
Collaboration and Support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering product and customer support to align on objectives and deliver consistent service levels.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members fostering a culture of learning and growth.
Qualifications and Experience
You are passionate about high-quality code unit-tests documentation and production services
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in a site reliability engineering or DevOps role with expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS Azure GCP).
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python Go and shell scripting.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) configuration management and automation e.g. Terraform CloudFormation CDK.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines Github CircleCi.
- Building and operating container orchestrating systems (Docker ECS K8).
- Experience with measuring analyzing and optimizing performance.
- Strong understanding of concurrency parallelism and distributed system concepts.
- Bilingual/native fluency in English.
