TeHerenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Kaitaki Eke Panuku - Team Leader to join the Ttoko - Student Success team on a permanent full-time basis.
The Kaitaki Eke Panuku - Team Leader Student Success is responsible for:
- Managing training and developing a team of Student Success Advisers and a Student Administration Coordinator; ensuring the team delivers a consistently high-quality efficient and effective service to students.
- Providing high quality efficient accurate and appropriate monitoring of student holistic advice and administration support within the framework of the Universitys academic policies regulations and operating procedures.
The role may deputise for the Mata Eke Panuku - Manager Student Success.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver the operational management of key business processes which include effective planning deliveryof holistic student support and delivery of student administration processes for the team in accordance with University regulations policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the continuous development and improvement procedures and processes working acrossTtoko -Student Success.
- Use equity diversity and inclusion practices to recognise and identify barriers to success collaborating with students to find solutions leverage resources and encourage them to actively engage in their learning journey.
- Maintain oversight of student progress monitoring while fostering strong collaborative relationships with other student services and academic staff particularly Associate Deans and Programme Directors to support an integrated student support model.

Selection criteria essential
- Tertiary degree and/or comparable professional experience in a similar role.
- Proven experience in planning policy analysis reporting and delivering to tight deadlines.
- Proven experience monitoring workloads and successfully developing motivating and managing staff.
- Demonstrated understanding of academic statutes and student academic processes.
- Experience in handling challenging or sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
- Demonstrated client centred approach and service delivery skills.
- Highly developed communication skills with the ability to express complex matters in an accurate and concise form both orally and in writing.
- Proven understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in an educational context.
