Job Description
Our client is a leading global retail brand who are currently expanding in Hong Kong. There is an immediate need need to hire a Director of Design & Development to manage the creativity for both new developments and renovations and in addition to guiding the design direction providing a global oversight of all project design management activities and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct and lead the team in the journey of design development and construction to prototypes for new consumer experiences.
Responsible for ensuring the designs or our projects reflect the agreed budgetary objectives and meet scheduled guidelines.
Gather market intelligence regarding design trends in the retail and hospitality industries.
Deliver individual project presentations of at geography to global level.
In partnership with Project Managers Operations Merchant groups and Visual Merchandisers as well as with outside consulting teams to ensure business and brand objectives were met.
Liaise and guide our outside consultancies to ensure their work is received successfully across all geographies.
Make necessary site visits and attend necessary meetings to gather/disseminate information and execute decisions.
Key Requirements:
Licensed Architect or a Degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited University (Bachelor required Master preferred)
12 plus years of innovative consumer experiences design/architecture
5 years of experience in Design Management level leading both in-house design teams and design agencies
Design Direction working on complex projects as an in-house design leader and or within an architectural or design agency
Fluency in English language Cantonese would be highly preferable
