Job Description

Description
The Central Waitlist Management (FY25-26) initiative aims to digitally enable stakeholders at a provincial regional and hospital level. Applying a user first approach requirements will be developed throughout the duration of the initiative. The purpose of this request is to acquire a Sr. Project Manager for participating in the process of ensuring that goals and objectives specified for the project or program are accomplished in accordance with Ontario Healths established priorities time limitations funding limitations or other specifications.
The Project Manager will support in the successful delivery of Ontario Health projects ensuring strong project communication documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle projects.

Must haves:
  • Minimum 8-10 years project management experience working in electronic health-related projects in Agile environment. and nbsp;
  • Experience working with Microsoft products with a preference for candidates that have experience with Microsoft based cloud tools.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and strong stakeholder engagement skills and nbsp;
  • Time Management with the ability to manage tight deadlines and prioritize multiple projects and nbsp;
  • Experience working with Business Technical Architecture Privacy and Legal stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Healthcare Information Systems used throughout the province of Ontario and nbsp;
  • Experience with working on a digital product development health system business implementation and deployment projects
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)

General Skills: and nbsp;
  • Leads organizational development strategy development business planning and Ministry funding requests and nbsp;
  • Gathers and develops requirements in order to create and maintain a detailed project schedule and/or integrated plan and nbsp;
  • Ability to monitor and forecast project costs and provide reporting and input to ensure targets are met and nbsp;
  • Experience developing and managing project schedules deliverables and scope and nbsp;
  • Ability to promote I and amp;IT project management best practices and adherence to standard methodologies and nbsp;
  • Demonstrated experience directing project teams to ensure project deliverables are delivered on time and adhere to government and ministry standards and nbsp;
  • Extensive experience coordinating and monitoring project processes and developing/communicating guidelines and procedures and nbsp;
  • Resolves resourcing and inter-personal conflicts negotiates changes to resourcing ensures knowledge is shared among team members such as project objectives and deliverables are met and nbsp;
  • Develops complex project budgets based on multiple funding channels and cross ministry dependencies and nbsp;
  • Effectively manages large project budgets and ensures a high level of fiscal control and accountability including estimates forecasts and reconciliation/confirmation of actuals and nbsp;
  • Proactively identifies potential risk events and issues before they occur so that proper mitigating strategies can be developed and nbsp;
  • Articulates and prioritizes issues and risks at senior executive levels and recommends mitigation strategies for decision makers and nbsp;
  • Establishes and participates in steering committee and stakeholder forums and nbsp;
  • Provides project program and/or portfolio reporting to multi-stakeholders at senior executive levels and nbsp;
  • Uses appropriate strategies and actions to overcome resistance to change and capitalize on forces in support of change during all stages of projects concept definition planning implementation and close-out and nbsp;
  • Promotes Ontario Health standards and best practices for project management to facilitate control of system quality adherence to standard methodology and the control of the use of resources and nbsp;

Desirable Skills: and nbsp;
  • Knowledge and understanding of Project Managements Institutes Project Management Body of Knowledge and nbsp;
  • Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles concepts policies and practices and nbsp;
  • Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards and nbsp;
  • Ability to make recommendations on the acquisition of software hardware and technology resources and nbsp;
  • Experience managing and coordinating project monitoring anticipates and troubleshoots issues provides ongoing expertise resolves problems and provides project effectiveness and nbsp;
  • Ability to identify conflict between project and functional areas and develops responses to successfully address conflict and nbsp;
  • Ability to handle client relationships to manage expectations provides updates as required identifies potential conflicts between project and functional areas

Evaluation Criteria:
  1. Minimum 8-10 years project management experience working in preferably with digital health-related projects: 25 points
  2. Minimum 5 years project management experience in complex healthcare solutions involving Business Technical Architecture Privacy and Legal stakeholders: 35 and nbsp;points
  3. Proven ability to lead and liaise with senior leadership on project deliverables and timelines coordinate risks and issues and communications: 20 and nbsp;points
  4. Project Management Certification (i.e. PMP): 10 and nbsp;points
  5. Familiarity with legislation applicable to healthcare organizations such as PHIPA: 10 and nbsp;points

Knowledge Transfer Details:
  • The resource will ensure full knowledge transfer is provided to the Ontario Health team before end of engagement. Some of this might occur at the end of the engagement but will also be shared as information is obtained/consolidated. Key deliverables will be shared with team.
  • The and nbsp;resource and nbsp;must provide all related documentation as part of Knowledge transfer protocol. Documents will be reviewed by the appropriate leads and signed off by manager/director.
  • The and nbsp;resource and nbsp;will work collaboratively with the Ontario Health team throughout the assignment and ensure key deliverables milestones and documentation are shared.
  • A walkthrough of any demos development etc. will be required before the end of the engagement.
