Amazon is seeking a Program Manager to drive banking/payments initiatives within the Global Payroll organization. This position will design and execute initiatives impacting payment processes and will collaborate with both internal and external partners. We are looking for a strong communicator with an eagerness to dive deep learn new systems and build mechanisms to enable operational teams to streamline payment processes.
Candidate will be involved in multiple simultaneous global projects that require influence without hierarchy. Candidate must be a self-starter with a strong controllership mindset who is enthusiastic to learn within a very dynamic global business environment. Consistent with a global vision you are passionate about identifying areas for further automation continuous improvement or other opportunities to deliver innovative payment options.
Key job responsibilities
The successful candidate must have a proven record of delivering meaningful risks and recommendations to the business. The candidate should demonstrate strong systems and process knowledge and a passion for customer service.
Core responsibilities include:
- Understand and solve customer problems in partnership with Finance Operations teams Human Resources Technology teams and external bank partners
- Lead and execute Payments roadmap and business expansion initiatives
- Build strong partnership with banking partners to enhance services and solutions
- Establish self-service tools and resources to enable Payroll Operations teams to identity and resolve payment issues
We are looking for a candidate with previous experience in:
- Banking/payments domain
- Program management with global stakeholders (tech and non-tech)
- Building reports/data sets that inform business decision-making
- Creating process improvements with automation or through new systems
- Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders across different seniority levels
- Ability to quickly understand complex problems and drive blockers to resolution working independently with global partners
- Experience on business relationship management
- Knowledge of payments industry and trends
Bachelors degree in finance accounting or related field
5 years of controls audit compliance or SOX roles
5 years of finance or a related analytical field
3 years of data analysis root cause identification and implementation of mitigation plans
Strong desire to exceed expectations and strong interpersonal skills including persuasive written and oral communication skills
MBA or CPA certification
5 years leading continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controllership with measurable results
Experience working in fast-paced environments with strict deadlines
