Job Description

Join our team at Wasatch Behavioral Health in Provo Utah as a Full Time Peer Support Specialist at our Receiving Center in Provo Utah. As a Peer Support Specialist you will have the opportunity to work onsite directly impacting the well-being of individuals in need. COMPENSATION: $16.49 - $21.95 per hour DOE & Peer Support Certifications if applicable

SCHEDULE: VARIES 11:00pm-7:00Am (GRAVES)

Essential Functions (Performs all or some of the following)

Establishes maintains and co-facilitates a therapeutic relationship with clients Assists in establishing and maintaining a recovery-oriented program culture Engages clients individually and in groups Models competency in recovery and ongoing coping skills Observes Records and reports client behavior and progress Demonstrates knowledge of de-escalation techniques

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED; AND One (1) year post high school education in social work psychology or a related field; AND One (1) year of general work experience; OR An equivalent combination of related education and experience.

OR

High school diploma or GED; AND Self-identified individual who is in recovery from a mental health and/or substance use disorder; or parent of a child with a behavioral health disorder; or other adult who has or has had an ongoing and personal relationship with an individual with a behavioral health disorder.

Preferred Qualifications: Completion of Certified Peer Support Training through the Utah Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH)

Employment at Wasatch Behavioral Health is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen motor vehicle record review and criminal background check. After hire you must complete and receive a Criminal Background Clearance (BCI) from Utah State Office of Licensing. Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment in the position you must provide an official copy of licensure or certification.
