Description
Heartland Community College seeks an Adjunct Faculty/Part-time Instructor in Phlebotomy in the Health Sciences Division at the Normal Campus in Normal IL. This faculty member is expected to encourage learning by preparing appropriate syllabi; by developing lectures discussions and other presentations or activities to enhance the students educational experience. This role develops and executes appropriate methods of evaluating students performance; develops secures and maintains the equipment and other instructional materials essential to the presentation of the classroom material.
General responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Prepare appropriate syllabi for courses
- Develop lectures discussions and presentations to enhance student learning
- Evaluate students performance using appropriate methods
- Secure and maintain instructional materials and equipment
Requirements
- Associate degree
- Current National Board Certification in phlebotomy
- Minimum of 2 years full-time work experience as a phlebotomist or medical laboratory technologist (MLT)
- Daytime and/or evening on-campus availability
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
- Successful teaching or supervisory experience
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Expertise with instructional technology

Adjunct faculty shall be compensated per Equated Contact Hours (ECH) of instruction. The current rate of compensation per ECH for new Adjunct Faculty is $1011.
