The opportunity
Were seeking a visionary and commercially astute leader to join QBE asHead of Strategic Partnerships reporting to the General Manager of Underwriting and Partnerships.
In this influential role youll shape and execute QBEs strategic partnership agenda across the commercial underwriting space. Youll lead the development of high-value relationships with major trading partners driving sustainable growth unlocking new business opportunities and strengthening QBEs market leadership.
Youll also lead a team of high-performing Strategic Partnership Managers fostering a culture of innovation accountability and excellence in execution.
Your new role
- Lead the strategic direction and growth of partnerships aligned to QBEs commercial underwriting strategy.
- Identify and pursue new business development opportunities across alternative distribution affinity and digital channels.
- Collaborate closely with underwriting leaders to co-design propositions that drive profitable growth and customer retention.
- Champion partnerships that deepen customer engagement and deliver differentiated value.
- Ensure governance and compliance across all partnership activities.
- Oversee strategic planning performance management and operational execution.
- Monitor and optimise KPIs across sales new business retention and digital adoption.
- Contribute to the achievement of NZPACs strategic objectives and business plan.
Please note that for the successful candidate this process will include a phone screen with our Talent Acquisition team 2 interviews (either face to face or online via Teams) and background checks.
About you
- Extensive leadership experience in the insurance industry with a strong track record in commercial underwriting or insurance and strategic partnerships.
- Proven success in managing executive-level relationships and driving business development with major financial institutions or trading partners.
- Deep expertise in alternative distribution models digital enablement and customer segmentation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and deliver results in complex competitive environments.
- Exceptional strategic thinking stakeholder management and commercial acumen.
