Process Safety Engineer
to join our Safety Team in the Singapore Refinery
You will focus on supporting the Singapore Refinery in the area of process safety management to ensure full compliance with local regulations (SS651 MHI Regs etc.) and Nestes OEMS requirements.. In this job you will work closely with Engineers Supervisors and front-line personnel in Singapore and the Corporate Process Safety Team in Finland.
You will provide your expertise to our Refinery on matters of process safety management such as Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) Management of Change (MOC) Incident Learning consequence assessment human factors functional safety safety case regime ALARP demonstration.

Your role in our team / in creating a sustainable future
Lead a cross-functional team to maintain the Refinery Safety Case work on intervention plan and manage site visits by MHD
Facilitate operational and MOC hazard assessments
Process and classify reported incidents on a daily basis
Manage and plan for the revalidation of unit lifecycle PHA (e.g. HAZOP-LOPAs FHA etc.)
Provide oversight to the MOC system by maintaining and auditing MOC records and procedures
Upkeep written procedures for process safety processes such as MOC PHA Incident Learning etc.
Analyse and trend incident data for quarterly review and annual management review
Lead or support Refinery initiatives to improve process safety reliability availability productivity and flexibility
Prepare the Refinery for various internal and external audits/surveys (e.g. SS651 OEMS insurance)
Facilitate or participate in the learning process for process safety related incidents
Develop process safety training material for the conduct of training and sharing
Promote Process Safety Fundamentals (PSFs) and process safety culture through employee participation by coaching and mentoring colleagues on their roles and responsibilities within PSM
Keys to success in this role / The best combination to succeed in this role
Minimum 8 years of working experience in the oil gas or petrochemical industry with minimum 4 years in a process safety role
Experience in development and operationalisation of Safety Case (at least 1 cycle).
Expert understanding of various PHA methodologies and good PHA facilitation skills.
Knowledge in consequence modelling bow-ties safety critical element functional safety human factors and ALARP demonstration is desirable.
Good communication writing and analytical skills.
Familiar with local WSH regulations and have experience dealing with local regulators such as MHD MOM NEA SCDF etc.
Bachelors Degree in chemical / process / process safety engineering. Masters Degree in a related field will be an added advantage.
