About RMHC

RMHC New Zealand supports families with a child in hospital away from home.

The Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Room programmes take care of the practical things in life so that families can focus on what really matters each other.

Each year we provide more than 4000 families from across the country with accommodation meals and support free of charge saving them more than $9 million collectively. We are part of a global network which is now 50 years old and operates in 36 countries worldwide.

The Opportunity

As part of our Leadership Team this newly created position plays a pivotal role in ensuring a consistent high-quality experience for all of our families across our programs nationally.

Reporting to our Chief Impact Officer youll develop the executional strategy to ensure mission delivery is optimised and consistently delivered for core programs throughout New Zealand.

You will lead the design delivery and continuous improvement of family-focused services and programs in alignment with our national strategy to ensure excellent service and compassionate hospitality to our families.

Your focus:

  • Service Delivery Lead the implementation of high-quality compassionate services ensuring consistency and excellence across all core programs
  • Stakeholder Engagement Partner with operational hospital stakeholders and support the Chief Impact Officer and CEO with strategic relationships
  • Financial Management Development of annual operations budget and quarterly reforecasting
  • Cultural Competency Develop metrics to assess meaningful impact of our programs in fulfillment of our commitment to fulfilling our goals of inclusivity for the families we serve
  • People management Grow talent and support team members including regular performance management.

About you

Supporting and nurturing a team of 77 front facing staff and with three direct reports you will be a strong people leader with at least five years experience delivering results in a lead role.

To succeed you will also need:

  • Solid commercial acumen with proven experience as a business manager in a fast paced and complex environment preferably with a background in health
  • Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including our board and volunteers hospital stakeholders and our families and community members
  • Strong strategic thinking project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • High attention to detail and able to manage complex processes ensuring quality across multiple systems.
