Amazon Amazon are looking for a passionate and motivated Sr. Area Manager to join our Fulfillment Center (FC) operations team located in Chiba City Chiba Prefecture.
Each Amazon FC comprises Inbound Outbound and Quality Assurance teams all working together daily to support an exceptional customer experience.

-Determine the requirements and variables impacting productivity based on daily workload forecasts to achieve overall shipping objectives.
-Balance and coordinate workforce shifts effectively ensuring operations run smoothly and efficiently while collaborating closely with team members.
-Ensure a safe working environment for all associates taking responsibility for workplace safety within your operational area.
-Actively identify and lead process improvement initiatives.
Managerial Responsibilities
The Sr. Area Manager and their team are responsible for reliably handling customer orders. As a Sr. Area Manager you will be required to adequately train your team members and address their needs enabling them to focus effectively on their roles. Crucially this position involves proactively leading and adapting to rapid changes.
Essential Functions
-Develop production and operational plans for inbound and outbound operations.
-Monitor and manage performance/progress using performance metrics.
-Coach and manage team members.
-Negotiate and collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to maximize productivity.
-Plan and drive projects aimed at enhancing safety quality and operational efficiency.
-Promote standardization of processes including managing irregularities and troubleshooting.
Working Conditions
-Shift-based work schedule using a monthly variable working-hours system; some positions may include night shifts depending on assignment.
-Daily working hours: 8 hours per day averaging no more than 40 hours per week.
-Commuting methods: Public transport (and walking) bicycle or personal vehicle.
-Annual days off: 120 days (average 10 days per month).

- Bachelors degree from a four-year university or equivalent work experience
- Basic computer skills (ability to perform basic arithmetic operations)

- At least 2 years of experience supervising staff or leading teams regardless of industry.
- Minimum 3 years of management experience in manufacturing or logistics.
- Experience managing teams of around 15 members including attendance and performance management.
- Experience improving operations managed through metrics and numerical indicators.
- Experience with operational improvement efficiency enhancement and IT implementation within manufacturing or supply chain logistics.
- Experience reviewing and revising workflows and operational rules; a degree related to engineering or operations.
- Interest in long-term career growth within domestic FC operations.
- Positive attitude towards contributing to an inclusive culture and working in diverse groups.
