Location: Niseko Japan
Contract term: Fixed-term 12 month / Full-time
Start Date: September 1 2025
Work hours: 35-40 hours per week

The Role
The Accounts Payable Coordinator is the engine behind smooth supplier operations ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing payment tracking and compliance with internal controls. This role is essential to maintaining trusted vendor relationships and supporting cash flow management.
They collaborate with both the finance team and operational departments to uphold accuracy transparency and efficiency in financial processes across Rhythm Japan.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Strategic Leadership and Business Enablement
- Deliver payables insights (e.g. overdue AP vendor aging)
- Maintain supplier relationships and help with communication
- Maintain AP process documentation and assist in system transitions
Financial Management
- Process purchase invoices; maintain AP ledger
- Record expenses against the correct GL codes
- Apply invoice coding rules; check accuracy of entries
- General office-related support
Risk Tax and Compliance Management
- Ensure AP compliance with invoice approvals and internal controls
- Adhere to internal controls and compliance
- Provide supplier data for tax reporting (e.g. withholding Consumption Tax)
- Provide AP-related audit documentation
- Learn and apply correct changes in tax laws and financial regulations
What youll need to succeed
- Qualifications: Japanese Bookkeeping qualification preferred but not required
- Organizational Skills: Managing multiple tasks and timelines
- Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication. Excellent verbal and written skills in English and Japanese
