Job Description
Senior Laboratory Assistant/ Laboratory Assistant in the School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 532823) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess 5 passes in HKCEE or min. Level 2 (or equivalent) in 5 subjects in HKDSEE preferably hold a Diploma in Laboratory Sciences or related disciplines. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; good organisational and interpersonal skills; a strong sense of responsibility; appropriate IT proficiency; and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Prior work experience in clinical laboratories and possession of a first aid certificate would have advantages. Those with lower qualifications and/or less experience may be considered for appointment as Laboratory Assistant.
The appointee will support the day-to-day operation of a clinical laboratory and maintenance of facilities including the preparation of apparatus for laboratory teaching activities operation of electronic devices data entry and record keeping procurement of equipment and other duties as assigned. He/She will also assist in the setting up of a state-of-the-art simulation training centre for medical students. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview.
